Community and Events

Spotswood Primary is proud of our strong school community reputation. We value positive relationships and links to organisations in the wider community.

  • Our annual whole school House Sports Carnival is held in Term 3 with students in Prep to Grade 6 participating in a variety of athletic events
  • Each year our Grade 6 school leaders attend a Young Leaders Conference
  • Our students regularly participate in events with Scienceworks
  • We send a group of students to the two day 'Kids Teaching Kids Water Conference', where our students facilitate a workshop for other students and take part in workshops run by other schools on a sustainability topic
  • Our students regularly attend the Hobson's Bay Junior School Council, which is held in the council chambers and gives students a chance to discuss local and school issues with council representatives.
  • The Spotty Cup is our annual race carnival event for the whole school community, and through our association with the Victoria Racing Club our students participate each year in the Melbourne Cup Parade
  • Our Music Night is held in Term 4. Students are invited to participate by playing a musical instrument or singing to showcase their musical talents
  • Every two years the school holds our Fete. This afternoon and evening event includes rides, stalls, food and drinks, entertainment and a whole lot more. This is a major community event and something we all look forward to.
  • Our other major community event is our Art Show. This takes place in alternate years to our Fete and is an amazing showcase of our school's magnificent Art Program. Our student art pieces are displayed in a gallery format around the school along with many interactive pieces throught the different spaces.
